4 weeks agoby arkigramDanish painter/artist Per #Kirkeby designed a number of #brick#sculptures around #Denmark . At first glance generic structures, but with no roof or function, so as you look closer, they transform to a kind of hyper-normal abstractions of Danish #brickarchitecture in common red bricks. Too standard to be beautiful but strangely fascinating in their strong and concrete but at the same time ghostly appearance. This one in #Nakskov , #Lolland .
1 month agoby arkigram#summer break in #Denmark means crossing #bridges , big or small. #bridge design has a lot of public interest, perhaps because they inevitably impact our flat landscape. The #Far ø #bridge is remarkable and beautiful and set in an incredibly beautiful and profoundly #Danish#landscape between islands, beech forests and gently hilly corn fields in 50 shades of yellow. Erik #Villefrance designed the bridge that opened in #1985 .
