4 months agoby arkigramThe #barrelvault roof construction at #n ørrebrostation. Look closely! The #construction is made entirely out of short pieces of #timber , ingeniously connected in a #rhomboid pattern and spanning a surprisingly big distance. Google helped my failing memory finding the name Gut Garkau #gutgarkau , a remotely located farm in northern Germany, designed by Hugo Häring in #1924-1926 . #hugoh äring. I visited the place many years ago and was intrigued by a construction similar to this one, but with a pitched vault. After a little research I found out it's called a #Zollingerroof after its (needless to say) German inventor #Friedrichzollinger , and the background…
4 months agoby arkigramArken Museum of Modern Art, the only example of #deconstructivist#danisharchitecture . Competition won by young #S ørenRobertLund in #1988 , opened in #1996 .
